The weirder thing is, DS running in GBA mode get the reduced sound hardware (2 square, 1 triangle, 1 noise, 2 PCM)... Including the triangle channel intact.

Makes you wonder why the PSG is still there...

DS synth has 16 channels. All can be used for ADPCM/PCM (both 8-bit and 16-bit)... The last 8 also doubles as an 8-channel PSG. 6 square and 2 noise channels. (Yes, it doesn't even do triangle - or why GB Sounds always sound wrong.)

Name? I forgot, but I think I read about its pronunciation in... a book that I read weeks ago in my school. Seems like it's close or the same to what you're thinking.

(Trivia time: Guess what's the closest setting to "NDS PSG"-like sound in GXSCC.)

When I downloaded Giratina SNES, I was disappointed. Then again, the last song I played was something from Kirby's Dream Land 3...

Hmm... For me, it's either really lo-fi (chiptunes) or better than FM (sample-based synth/prerecorded).

For some reason I never liked most FM synth. Though, growing up with the PlayStation must have done that (alongside GBC/GBA).

Heh. Guess Super Mario World isn't exactly known for its audio, especially for a launch-era SNES game. (The GBA port fared worse except for sound effects and voices, where the original had none for the latter department thanks to waaaaaaaaay more space!)

Hey Cat, I have an interesting little idea for fun and laughs--
Have you ever heard of the Challenge Cup mode on Pokemon (DISALLOWED)? Basically, it randomizes EVERYTHING-- the pokemon you get, their levels (50-100 I think), their moves, their items, their abilities. Really, it provides for a literally unpredictable battle.
I want to try to get a Challenge Cup Tournament on PO together for VR-- it requires literally no experience in Pokemon Metagame, but it would still be loads of fun. Someone suggested I pitch the idea to you, by the way.

I worked on my senior project for about three hours this morning... I also think I got the whole "dynamic content" thing figured out... I'm gonna have a table group for the content, with the fields of each table holding VARCHAR's. There will be a table for pages of the site, which could potentially double as a title table. That will be linked via foreign key to a content table... I think. I'm still smoothing the idea out.
