Depending on the CPU load and temperature, my laptop's CPU (rated at 1.6 GHz) can go anywhere from 800 MHz to 2.3 GHz. Remember when overclocking didn't happen automatically?

I've noticed that my external disconnects if I ever do so much as tap the cable.

Maybe it's time to just upgrade to Thunderbolt and enjoy faster than USB 3?

Whats up? I got an Xbox 360 for free. My friend gave it to me after he bought the new Xbox 360 S (the redesigned model). It comes with: power supply, hybrid composite and component cable, 20 GB hardrive, and one wireless controller. It's the Xbox 360 Premium (20 GB, no HDMI). I don't own any 360 games yet but I'm currently borrowing some of his games.

Actually, there are a lot of possible alignments with a CRT.

Besides triangles, you'd also see a lot of kinds of arrangements for CRT screens.

Sony Trintron screens have the RGB matrix, like a regular LCD. There's a reason why ClearType works so well with these Sony CRTs xD

I think I now get the ClearType Tuner.

In Windows 7, the first step is ClearType (with sub-pixel antialiasing) without sub-pixel alignment for letters. (Notice how all the "i"s are all the same?)
The second step is to determine how much should the pixel grid be respected when rendering text with sub-pixel alignment of letters - leftmost one = fully, rightmost one = Apple-style
The third step is to determine how thick the text should be rendered, with sub-pixel alignment of letters.

In Windows 8, one additional step after the third exists, but it is just the third, with greyscale rendering instead.

Windows XP and Vista seems to have just the first step of the tuner.

Secret war with brightest displays possible? They sure didn't know that they should improve on glare and visibility under sunlight more. Pretty much every Windows 7 laptop I have seen out there were uncalibrated, and sometimes, complete with ugly scanlines. (I'm looking at you, Toshiba.)

Nokia being almost essentially a part of Microsoft does have its own benefits when it comes to WP apps

They can track phone minutes, texts, and data usage on an app without waiting for the OS itself to update (they just got the app itself out)

One funny thing about Thunderbolt is that you can daisy-chain stuff, as long as there are no display devices in the chain.

    Rename your email address

Warning: You might not want to change this email address if you've used it to set up a Windows Phone. On your phone, features that use this address will stop working, including Marketplace, Xbox LIVE, SkyDrive, email, and others. To use these features again on your phone, you'd need to restore it to factory settings, which erases all personal content.

Why rename your address? When you rename your email address, your new ID works just like your old one. Your new mail will go to your inbox, and you can choose to keep your old mail in a separate folder. All of your other Microsoft account info—like contacts, photos and Office docs on SkyDrive—will also switch to your new address within a few days.

    About time.

One of the weird dreams that I've had lately was an airplane descending at the wrong place.

    Then it bounces

    And does a 180

And then explodes and disintegrates into nothingness

    o.O

The other weird dream involving airplanes is a passenger jet we're in somehow lands and starts driving in a highway as if it were a normal car, with no one batting an eye
