What happens when you get a parser error with ASP.NET + Razor
    Code:
    Server Error in '/' Application.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Parser Error
Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: A space or line break was encountered after the "@" character. Only valid identifiers, keywords, comments, "(" and "{" are valid at the start of a code block and they must occur immediately following "@" with no space in between.

    Source Error:

    Source File: /Contact.cshtml Line: 43

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:4.0.30319; ASP.NET Version:4.0.30319.1
The same thing with PHP under default configuration would just produce one single line of unhelpful advice

The problem with trying to set Segoe UI these days? MySQL syntax errors?

text-shadow syntax is comma-separated, and cannot end with a comma, lest it becomes invalid. Also, don't forget that you can set any kind of colour supported as of CSS3. There can be up to 5 values for a single shadow, with multiple shadows being created for each one afterwards added to it.

    Code:
    text-shadow: offset-x offset-y (blur) (spread) (color),[*]
Only the offsets are required, however WebKit does not behave (shadows = transparent = skipped) without a colour set, so it's essentially required anyway. (Trident, Gecko and Presto just take the current color value.) If you do include the spread value, a fallback is necessary. (Spread is in CSS4 and supported by IE10 for now, while other stuff is CSS3)

Internet Explorer's F12 tells me that when it comes to the text box, FreezeWarp is using current width +.5 pixels

At 100% zoom you can't have half a pixel. Box-sizing: border-box also means that you need to think a bit differently when it comes to spacing out things. Right now, in addition to unexpected subpixel values, we have text boxes that are too wide to be fit into the container on first load.

Guess what happens when you just leak over the edge? Floated elements get pushed down.

Are you able to directly edit the JavaScript files anyway?

This file is the problem. http://vrim.victoryroad.net/client/js/fim-chat.js

    Look at function resize ()

Also known as don't use percentages when you can just fix the width of the left navigation links and make your life way easier?

The key in making the media query-based adaption of sites work is...

Make the normal styles be the "styles for the worst mobile browser ever that can't do MQs"

Then you add in higher and higher resolutions into the mix (just the width is usually enough)

Percentages are your friend, and avoid fixed widths wherever possible. Giving the CSS a complete reversal made it work in everything mobile before CSS3 XD Oh, and IE7 and 8 will get the mobile layout, but not that it matters, since they are a bit too creaky :3 At least there's a usable site.

Don't believe me? This slideshow presentation should do it.

...Nope. Opera still a bit unusable in the long run. Sticking with IE9.

...why the heck does the marquee scroll smoothly enough even on the 3DS for that quirky page

I think my phone battery is horrible. I can drain 80% of it in with just two hours.

24-bit and sampling rates higher than 48 kHz is actually useless and can be bad to audio quality and performance and storage since consumer hardware typically can't do that. They distort them! (maybe your hearing isn't that good?)

    Hmm

I think I do really need Font Squirrel and its @FF generator if only for enhanced hinting.

Scratch everything. I went full circle in the sense that I ditched web fonts. Good ol' system fonts work predictably XD (The original font choices that I had in mind all work well)

One minor tweak in the 3DS update: you will have to hold the camera buttons for at least 0.5 seconds before the camera gets ready in the HOME Menu.

I must be doing something wrong if Opera 9.5 desktop doesn't render the page properly Either that, or now I know why no one uses Opera usually

Pay attention to the favicon. Notice something different?

Opera 12 Beta is finally out! Oh, and now it's so fast I like it. I'm considering switching. (and the fonts look like IE9 - doesn't cheat)

We can also finally blame Opera for making VRIM not work. The bug causing hashes to be displayed instead is now fixed, and VRIM works fine in the latest beta.

QBasic is fun, don't get me wrong... In fact, I once wrote a program with it that plays the Pac-Man Theme through the PC speaker. X3
Too bad I don't know what I did with the source code... -_-

The only thing I use QBASIC for, is creating programs to annoy people with the PC buzzer. X3
Other than that, QBASIC has very little value to me.

There's dedicated, and then there's very dedicated. Then there is the super dedicated that make things work on an operating system that has been obsolete for 5 years and counting.

A memory overflow issue was resolved which in the older version of Windows 98 would crash most systems if left running for 49.7 days (equal to 2ł˛ milliseconds).[22] Windows 98 SE could be obtained as retail upgrade and full version packages, as well as OEM and a Second Edition Updates Disc for existing Windows 98 users. Windows 98 Second Edition did not ship with the WinG API or RealPlayer 4.0 unlike the original release of Windows 98, both of these being superseded by DirectX and Windows Media Player.

The Microsoft Interactive CD Sampler 7.0 itself takes up 291 MB. Then again, there's an entire CD, so... well, that's a good way to fill it up.

    ...I miss on-disc goodies now.

"5. Finally, if all the above steps are still failing, you
can try to slow down your computer. To slow down your
computer, use any or all of the following methods:

    - Change your computer's CMOS settings. Bus mastering,
    external/internal cache, RAM settings/timings, and
other settings contribute to the speed at which
your computer runs. For information about how to
change these settings, consult the documentation
that is included with your computer."
So one of the last-resort troubleshooting steps for a Windows 98 SE install as suggested by Microsoft is to underclock (lower than stock if necessary)

If Norton AntiVirus is installed, you may see the
following warning at the end of the initial file copy
    procedure:

    Application Wininst0.400\Suwin.exe is
attempting to update the Master Boot Record

You should choose Continue (C) for Setup to finish
properly. If you do not allow these changes to take place,
    Setup may stop responding."
    Oh, Norton.

"Installing Windows 98 Second Edition from Your Hard Disk
    ---------------------------------------------------------
By copying all the Setup files to your hard disk and
then installing from your hard disk, you can eliminate
most of the problems associated with file copy and disk
I/O issues. You can unload your CD-ROM drivers and free
up conventional memory to assist with low memory errors
in this type of install. To copy the Setup files locally:"

Someone trying to install Windows 98 SE using floppies would be just asking for trouble, right? I can count at least 70 cabinet files in the CD-ROM version.

GIF speed is set at 1/100ths of a second.

Internet Explorer will throttle speeds lower than 5/100th to 10/100 before version 10
Internet Explorer 10 will do so only when it's exactly 1/100 (less than 16.7ms)
