I think I have a new all time favorite Pokemon... and evolution line. Hinorashi and its evoltuions are still a sold second place (still don't have my game yet, this could still change) with Buizel falling to ... D: 7th place after the 6 starter Pokemon that I like... I never though that would happen.

Okay, quick update on OS X virtualization:
The OS boots successfully and I'm able to mess around with it, but apparently it kernel panics on shutdown. That shouldn't be a problem, though, since at this point (I'm going by the verbose logs) it would already have killed all processes running. I'm going to try doing a full system update and installing Xcode to test stability.

Well, I am always up later on the Weekends, which was my logic.

Only thing abotu it is that it can't compile to another platform, but that's to be expected. It IS a OS X compiler, after all.

From my understanding of it, you could write most of the program in C++ and use that as a base for individual OS ports.

XCode is the OS X development suite published by Apple. I have it, which explains how I was able to render this with Interface Builder (part of the suite).

Well, my initial render is finally done! Best thing is, it's an Interface Builder file, which means that you can use this in iVRC!

And if you're going to recode the entire program, I'd recommend using XCode.

By that, do you mean just redesign the UI completely and leave the underlying code intact or completely recode the entire program? Either way, I can help you with anything within my realm of expertise here.

Since I'm here at my Mac now, I'll throw together a little sample UI and you can tell me whether it's viable or not.

Are you going to fully redesign the UI for the OS X port, or are you going to simply rehash the Windows UI? I can tell you from personal experience that just rehashing a UI between ports is NOT a good idea; ideally, the application should fit in with the OS it's running on. If Mono supports Interface Builder files, I can send you something that should look good on an OS X system and fit in with the Windows and Linux versions.

But yeah. So far, based on your system specs, I can tell you your virtualization specs that you'll need. I'll implement these in the VMX file that I'll send you once I confirm proper function of OS X, but I'll tell them to you regardless so you can tweak them to your liking.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand very important update
As I'm typing this message out right now, OS X is successfully installing on a virtual hard drive on my Windows partition (my Mac goes both ways, which enables this ability). Given my previous experiences, the rest of the installation should take around 30 min. After that, I can test out the rest of the virtual hardware and determine how to prepare everything for regular use so we can see some iVRC action!

Preliminaries:
The disk which you still don't have apparently
VMware Player
Some files which I'm gonna package for you
Give or take 15 GB of HD space
1 GB of RAM at the very least
At least one processor core to dedicate to it
A DVD drive
Willingness to learn Objective-C

I didn't have any time over the past weekend (having a 50-mile bike ride on Saturday and a lot of homework on Sunday didn't help at all), but I am still thinking very seriously about iVRC. Although this is your domain exclusively, I was thinking of some concept designs about the UI to make it integrate better into OS X. It wouldn't be a radical departure from the current UI, but I thought of a few tweaks that could possibly work.

Also, tonight I am going to try to get OS X to virtualize under similar settings to your computer. If it goes successful, I'll compile the instructions and the required kexts and bootloader. If not, I have Plans C-Z ('cuz this is plan B).

Can you approve me in the serious role playing area? I would very much like to play Legend of Viel Stone and I will be mature.

Just an update on project iVRC (didn't feel like using PMs):
Fusion (the OS X VMware) virtualization isn't working out so well. Turns out Fusion has native support for Snow, but I can't get the damn stuff to work under it. Therefore, I'm going with plan B and trying it under Windows, using the version you have.

Edit: aaaaaaaaaaaaand of course VMware didn't install successfully. Why wouldn't it. I'mma try again tomorrow in my free time (if there is any).

I'm getting impatient.....My Pokemon White hasn't come yet....jdfasjkfdlkjsdlfkj, from now on I'm doing fast shipping with package tracking! XD
