It was a chore trying to download SimCity 4 patches with a 56K connection, simply because the site extensively used large images. Everything had to wait for these styling images. Browsers of the day sucked, too.

Think of validation as a nice bonus, but it's not a must - sometimes, you just need to get it to work with code as clean as possible, but sometimes you do have to make trade-offs. I used to fix fix fix, but not these days. XD

I think the entire thing can be boiled down to having the outlining turned on for the landscape. (it's disabled in Gen V)

You know, on a DS, polygons that have vertices outside the screen will get the vertices changed to values within the screen area, sometimes with the offending polygons broken up into smaller polygons, and the texture coordinates redone.

This usually works well, but sometimes it goes wonky. Take outlined polygons, for example. When such a polygon goes out of the screen area, you may notice that there'll be a perfectly horizontal or vertical outlining edge along the edge of the screen.

Or polygons in awkward angles. Perspective correction on the DS is already fragile - it'll fail worse here.

Or sometimes you'll be able to see seams on objects with large surfaces that aren't subdivided.

The Generation IV games kept tripping all of the above

Yep. Fortunately, I have located a pinout for the P70's keyboard connector, and I just unearthed an old PS/2 Microsoft scroll mouse that I would have otherwise used with my ThinkPad. Now it's just a matter of purchasing a PS/2-to-USB adapter. I'd really love to use that old keyboard with my USB-equipped computers, even though it lacks the Windows keys.

Maybe while I'm at it, I should buy a game-port-to-USB adapter, so I could have a practical use for the old CH FlightStick Pro. :3

It's quite possible that it's PS/2, although I can't tell because the connector is flat at the keyboard end of the cable. I'd have to dismantle the computer to detach the cable from the logic board.

Now, if I could adapt it to a regular PS/2 keyboard, and then bought PS/2-to-USB adapter, I'd be as happy as a clam. :3

I'm back. I won the prone match, then I won second place in the three position match. It was hot, and sunny, and I was happy. n.n Oh, and I took the AP Physics B test today. I'll tell about the answers if they put up the questions online in 48 hours.
