How old would it be considered to be "weird" to collect Pokemon Cards?
I know quite alot of adults still collect them? but i just wondered what everyone else thought about it? :)

I would say 30 but I give my mom cards (she likes teddiursa) and she keeps them and shes over 30.
|
ah right fair enough :) i just wondered because i like the idea of collecting them but i know my friends would think it to be weird :S

I'm 19 and the trading cards were the first Pokémon collection I amassed.

I threw out all of my Pokemon cards when I was 11 or something. I also threw away most of my Yu-Gi-Oh cards at that same time, but I kept a rare deck of cards. |
My parents think I'm too old for Pokemon in general, so... around 13 and older. Although there's nothing wrong with it.
|
Hmm.. I have to say any age you choose. You see young and not-really-young people collecting them. If you want to collect, that your choice

I let people do what they want...heck, I collect Pokemon cards occasionally still. Even though it's slowed down, I do it. And I'm not ashamed. |
I want to collect pokemon cards, but im too lazy to.
And if your talking about today's society, i would have to say... 12 or 13 due to anti-pokemon people. "YOUR 14, YOUR TOO OLD FOR POKEMON *is slapped in the face*"(People) "There is no such thing as 'too old' for Pokemon" (Me) |
Any age I guess. Hobbies are healthy for the human mind.
|
The fact that Pokémon cards have a value of uniqueness to them, I'd actually say there could be financial benefits to doing so even into your 20s or 30s. Older/rarer ones could definitely mature in value like baseball cards perhaps would, although this does depend how long the series stays alive.
|
Overproduction may have made the value depreciate, even in the oldest ones. The least produced sets will probably be worth the most. For instance, Expedition (2003) only had one print due to it being the last Wizards of the Coast set. EX Team Rocket Returns (2004) was also quite limited in production. Too bad The Pokémon Company International doesn't do 1st Edition like TPC Japan does and Wizards did.
I still stand by there not being a "too old" age. |
I don't think there's such thing even though I've never played the TCG.
|
Well, the TCG is also much more mature than any other aspect of Pokémon, because its not something where your trying to make friends or learn life lessons - you're actually battling, and nothing else! Learning basic arithmetic along the way :P

How old would it be considered to be "weird" to be alive? That's my answer.
I suppose if they're these than there are some financial benefits to collecting them. :P Quote:
