Where can I get MIDIs for Black & White music? Are they even out yet?
Specifically, I need the trainer battle MIDI. I cant seem to find it anywhere. (Is this even in the right forum?) Only MP3s. Can anyone help me out here? Many thanks :D

There are SOME out there, I'll be having some on my site, but Floatzel.net should have some that Cat had made....I'm not sure when but soon I guess...
|
I know that Cat has a lot of B/W MIDIs, but I'm not too sure whether he'd like to share them. He told me that he doesn't want to see a load of "crappy remixes". :P

Very well, my quest starts now >:O |
Another late bump, but it is still relevant.

WHOAAA, AWESOME. Many thanks Cat :D
Much appreciated. |
By the order of the MIDIs, I guess you (Cat) used my program to rip it. Or you have an old one. Either way, it's identical (more-or-less) to my rip, which I've been using as a base for my remixes.
Of course, I could be wrong. This is my program. |
I used NDS Sound Extractor v0.4 by TENDON
Oh, while we're at it, I got these from it too: http://floatzel.net/pokemon/black-white/cries.zip Well, the data is all placed in there sequentially, so I don't think one program is going to have a different order than another. |
Just finished sorting out most of the songs.
Is there a list that tells you which file is what? Or do you have to figure that out yourself. |

NDS Sound Extractor v0.4 is really similar to my program, though. As long as everyone is happy, but why did I get more rips? |
Awesome! Thanks for these, Cat!
EDIT: While I'm here... Anyone got the soundfont? |

AnathemA, please do not re-upload the file to another site. Please link to the original.
(You should know what I'm talking about, and I already edited it but couldn't take the file off.) |
I'm unsure if anyone actually uses this particular topic as a resource for the BW midis any more, but this is the only source I really found, so...
If you'd like, I can go through the songs (good lord there's a ton) and label the ones I recognize. |

Holy mother of god. I finally stopped being lazy and got back to work on these, and after about 3-4 hours (including time to research), I'm done. I'm glad I figured out where the music stopped and the SFX started (eventually). As best as I can tell without listening to every single one, no file over 00A7 is a full song, and past somewhere around 00DE is nothing but SFX. If someone else wants to go through the rest of the 600-something untitled files in the SFX folder and confirm that, be my guest. As for the songs (there's two 0000s for some reason, neither of which I could identify) I named as many as I could, and left some notes for ones that I thought I recognized but couldn't place. Any name surrounded by =equals= is one I couldn't place. 0002 seems to be empty, and 0008 is a sfx. Feel free to fill in the blanks for me.
A text list of the files
I bolded the ones I was unsure of. |
Here's the best I could do:
0000 - 0001 - 0019 - Castelia City 0020 - Black City 0021 - White Forest 0035 - Driftveil Bridge 0036 - 0037 - Village Bridge 003A - Shopping Mall Nine 003D - 003E - Gate 0040 - 0041 - Poké Transfer Lab 0044 - 0045 - 0050 - (I think it's Reshiram/Zekrom appears) 005B - 005D - 005F - 0064 - 0066 - 0067 - 0068 - 0069 - Intro to the Musical 006A - 006B - Musical theme 006C - Musical theme 006D - Musical theme 006E - Musical theme 006F~007C - Trainer intros 0097 - Mystery Gift 0098 - Entering the Dream World 009A - 009B - GTS 009C - 009E - (I want to say this one involves Bianca) 00A0 - Battle Subway Trainer Battle 00A3 - 00A4 - Makes me wish I had the soundtrack handy, but I don't at the moment. |
(Memorized the soundtrack) Okay, with the bolded ones...
The first 2 aren't Wi-Fi related, they're Poketransfer related. 1st one is picking from the box, next is during the Transfer minigame. 0036= Tubeline Bridge 0040= Battle Subway 0044= Entralink (During Mission) 0045= Unity Tower 0050= Actually Cat, it's the top floor of Dragonspiral Tower 005B= Encounter! Ghetsis 005D= Ancient Times (Happens when Alder talks about old stuff) 005F= Team Plasma's Causing Trouble (I think it happened when they stole that little girl's Patrat on Route 3) 0064= Ferris Wheel 0066 and 0067= Reshiram/Zekrom Awaken! (Your legendary.) 0068= Musical Building 0069= Musical Dress Up (Cat, the one you're looking for is below) 006A= Intro to the Musical 009A= Back in Platinum this was the Egg Spin music. But you can trade eggs now so... I dunno, maybe it's still Egg Spin. 009C= Battle Competition Menu 009E= It does involve Bianca, it's the Pick A Starter! song. It plays when she walks in your room. 00A0= I dunno... it sounds more like the regular Trainer Battle theme. 00A3 and 00A4= Reshiram/Zekrom Has Come! (N's legendary.) All from the top of my head. I'll try to get those specific Trainer encounters for you, though. |
On a semi-related note, I wanted to thank you for uploading the entire MIDI pack to begin with.
Wouldn't have been able to make this otherwise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByXgEilMRYg Quote:
EDIT: Clearly I don't understand how Youtube tags work on this forum. :( |

How to use the Youtube tag
Also Cat, PLEASE oh PLEASE learn how to place FOLDERS in your .zip files!! For the love of Arcues! Sincerely, my Desktop. Attachment 4259 But onto the main point of this post to stay relevant. I started to clean some of these midis a long time ago, most of these are still .FLP files for FL Studio so I'll try to get back to work rendering them out as midi files. These midi files, however, do not loop as I don't currently know how to do that with FL Studio. So until I learn how to loop midi files, they will have to remain like this. Though this is a BW thread, I should mention I have a few midi files for BW2 that have been "cleaned up" as well, I will work on that project over winter break more so than BW as people have already gotten most BW midi files up. When I say "cleaned up" I mean I've taken the instruments and put them into their own midi tracks. Some instruments have multiple tracks due to their individual panning being unique and parts of the song being claustrophobic with some parts (that's why they use fewer midi tracks in these games now since there are SO MANY instruments). This is a permanent link I'll use to upload my own midi files to this work in progress folder: http://www.mediafire.com/?1558xsp3db354 Note: I've got a few that just need to be switched over to their proper midi output channels (renaming them and re-linking them to the Fruity LSD). This just means that I should be adding more than just the two that are currently in there in the near future. |
Hey peoples, you know... There's a software called "VGMTrans", it extracts midis and soundfonts from the game WITH A NAME ON IT !! xD
"BANK_MUS_SW_VS_ACHROMA.dls" for example. ( a soundfont ) You can download it on GBATemp if you want it :) |
Quote:
It should also be noted that VGMTrans crashes A LOT! So you better be prepared for that if you use that particular program, there are, however, other free programs as well. I believe a few were mentioned in earlier posts of this particular thread. |
Quote:
It runs perfectly fine on my new computer, but when I was on my old Asus K70AB ( the same as you ), it crashed most of the time ^^' And, about the japanese in-game names, that's easy, they're sorted by their themes, like Battles themes, City themes, ... Sometimes, the name of a specific character is written on it. ( in my case, Achroma and his awesome battle theme <3 ) It's less harder with VGMTrans to find a midi, even if it crashes sometimes, don't you think? :o Oh, and yeah, thoses midis are a terrible mess to edit. >_< |

while (true) print("THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUU") How did you get those? I gave up looking for something like that years ago. |
