For reference, some specs:
| Inspiron 14R | Precision M2400 |
---|
CPU | Intel Core i3 @ 2.2GHz | Intel Core2 Duo @ 2.8GHz | Graphics | ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 | NVIDIA QuadroFX 370M | Memory | 4GB | 4GB | Screen | 14" 1366x768 | 14" 1440x900 w/ AntiGlare | Unimportant stuff | Shiny, with a great trackpad | Matte finish, awesome lit keyboard |
Hopefully I've covered everything there. I'm just wondering if the $500 is worth it or if I should just get the nice Presicion and not bother saving up money.

DON'T GET THE PRECISION IF YOU ARE INTO PLAYING PC GAMES
The Quadro FX is designed for workstation use. For gaming performance, a Mobility Radeon HD 5470 has over double the performance.
The Core i3 is more efficient than the ancient Core 2 Duo.
16:10 = falling out in style
If you're not into games, though, the Precision is fine! The extra resolution helps with normal browsing, too.
