Okay, so, from now if I don't spend any money I can afford a decent Inspiron 14R (rather than my piece of crap Inspiron 14R) in about a year. However, my dad will probably be getting rid of his Precision in a couple years anyway. So I need a decision made; do I go with something outdated and free, or pay for something nice? For reference, some specs:
| Inspiron 14R | Precision M2400 |
---|
CPU | Intel Core i3 @ 2.2GHz | Intel Core2 Duo @ 2.8GHz |
Graphics | ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 | NVIDIA QuadroFX 370M |
Memory | 4GB | 4GB |
Screen | 14" 1366x768 | 14" 1440x900 w/ AntiGlare |
OS | Win7 Home Premium x64 | Win7 Professional x86 (upgraded from Vista) |
Unimportant stuff | Shiny, with a great trackpad | Matte finish, awesome lit keyboard |
Hopefully I've covered everything there. I'm just wondering if the $500 is worth it or if I should just get the nice Presicion and not bother saving up money.
