You got Pokémon in my Politics!

During the United State's Republican debate last night, Herman Cain quoted the following line in his speech:

A poet once said, 'life can be a challenge, life can seem impossible, but it's never easy when there's so much on the line.'

Sound familiar? It's the first line to the song Power of One by Donna Summer (you know, the ending song for Pokémon the Movie 2000). Cain claims that not only it was from a famous poet, but he also heard it during the Summer Olympics of 2000.

Okay, maybe it was a mistake that the quote was sourced incorrectly and he probably doesn't remember it being Pokémon related at all, but the quote's undeniable - It was definitely that song.

This is pretty funny and cool. I might try doing the same thing and use some inspirational quotes from Pokémon (or video games generally) in my essays/speeches. You never know, they might do wonders!
