Default Books you are currently reading

Whether you read it for fun or for school, what are you reading right now?

I am reading Hello Kitty must die which is the weirdest title I ever read. The story is about a 28 year old chinese woman who looks well educated and well-mannered on the outside and compares to Hello Kitty as sweet and innocent. On the inside, she has a mind like a serial killer. She has a friend that was a serial killer and adapt some of his behaviors. The book has dark humor and it was funny at the beginning but it gets boring in the middle and it starts to get repetitive.

Rereading A Wrinkle in Time which I enjoy because this book makes you think. Is there's such thing as perfect society? What would it cost to run a perfect society? I remember reading it the first time in 5th grade and I like it though there are parts I didn't understand until I reread again. This book reminds me of The Giver which has the same concept of society being the same and people willing to never change.

I'm reading some crappy Historical fiction book called "Cold Sassy Tree" for summer reading.
It isn't interesting and the climax graph is completely out of whack.
It's bad.

I'm reading The Andromeda Strain. It's pretty interesting with a lot of technical stuff.

Even though it's fiction, it's written asthough it were a historical account.

Currently I'm reading 2 different things.

1.Polar Shift: Basically a book about ships traveling in the Arctic circle and going missing.

2.Scott Pilgram Series...again: I don't know, it's just a nice small series to have on hand when I get bored.

I am currently reading Evil Genius by Catherine Jinks. I read one of her other books (The Reformed Vampire Support Group, to be exact) and it was really good. I love evil genius even though there are some things that don't make much sense (like a school for evil people that's been around for 5 years that no one has seemed to notice).

Currently reading The Hot Zone which is a nonfiction thriller. It's about a fatal disease that is very infectious to humans origined in Africa which to the point appeared somewhere in Virginia. The book scared the daylights out of me and it has rather disturbing and graphic scenes.

I started reading K-PAX again. Good book. And an awesome movie, but that's kind of off-topic...

I have to read a book for school and do a report on it. But it has to be at least 250 pages, and this book has EXACTLY 250 pages. W00T!

Don't tell Kurusu, but I just finished John Dies at the End. It's too awesome for words, like, Stephen King, but less obscene, and with a better plot in 350 pages.

Just finishing Silent Boy which is a simple story but it's enjoyable for me. I can related to the characters in the story and the boy reminds me of my sister. What's odd is this is the first book I read for fun since the school year starts. I guess I was too busy to read for fun and I lost interest. But I am slowly interested in books again for fun.

I stopped reading the Harry Potter series now that I reached the final book (I don't want to spoil the conclusion for myself). Instead, I am currently reading Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox by Eoin Colfer for our school's reading competition.

I tried to get all of them, but I couldn't figure out the continuity. I'll have to try later.

It goes in order:

Ender's Game
Ender's Shadow (Same time as Ender's Game)
Shadow of the Hedgemon
Shadow Puppets
Shadow of the Giant
Ender in Exile
(first 3 chapters or so is before Shadow series, but rest is after them)
Speaker For the Dead
Xenocide
Children of the mind

Plus a new book has been announced that will go after the whole list.

I can't even remember if I read these before or not. I'll have to start buying the books themseves instead of relying on my school library. I've read the 1st and 2nd series, I didn't read some in The Power of Three. Boxed set would be nice.

Can't wait for The Fourth Apprentice!

EDIT: Redwall is also awesome, enjoy Emeror Empoleon or whatever your name is. The storyline is confusing as zelda, though, and that's saying something.

I'm re-reading To Kill a Mockingbird. I just love that book. (That and it's an in-class requirement. XD)

Just got done reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It was required for English class. I'm not much of a reader, I just read the books/novels assigned to us in class.

Reading Their eyes were watching God for my English class. The dialogue is very difficult to read because it was written in African American Vernacular English (also called Black English).

No way, that's the book I'm currently reading in English too! And I agree, the dialect is kinda hard to read. That's because it's supposed to be read as you would hear the words being spoken in real life. You know, slang pretty much. But don't worry, after the first 3 or 4 chapters, you get used to it. (I'm currently on chapter 4)

We're currently reading one of my favorite books: Island of the Blue Dolphins.
The main reason i like it is because of the whole plot and the characters. We're currently on Chapter 7.

Haven't read books for awhile due to schoolwork and exams coming up in April. For my leisure, I am reading I know why the Caged Bird Sings. I like exploring other cultures and their traditions outside of my culture because it gives me a new view from a different race.

Not sure if this counts as a book, but we just finished watching a live action play of A Street Car Named Desire in English class.

Started reading Barrio Boy by Ernesto Galarza
I can relate to the story. I know the kind of situation he was in. Growing up speaking Spanish then going to a bi-lingual school where most people speak English. o3o

Isn't that the story by Maya Angelou with the lady Mrs. Flowers and how she's so wealthy and nice? We read it in class.

As for me, I'm reading even more Warriors: Power of Three. I just finished #5: Long Shadows and finishing up the epic climate with #6, Sunrise. Erin Hunter is awesome.

Yes it's a book by Maya Angelou I read in my own time. In English class, we are reading Hamlet which I already read except it's in a different version. For my French class, we are reading Le Petite Prince.

I'm reading The Moon is a Harsh Mistriss by Robert Heinlein for my Political Science Fiction class, and I really like it so far. The narrator speaks with broken english, where he drops unnecessary words...such as pro-nouns or things like "it" or "is".

For example: Book by Robert Heinlein very good. I enjoy story.

Anyway, it's really good so far. It's got an AI and colonies on the moon.
