Default Alas, writing an introduction...

Well, good day! (Or good morning/night/evening depending on where you live) My username, as you might already have seen, is Togelover. I am a 17 year old guy from Norway who is just your average Poke-nerd, I guess. Although I have been in the competitive metagame since the beginning of Gen 4, I am not especially good at actually playing. Even though I really do not like to brag, I will admit that my knowledge on Pokemon is fairly wide. The biggest reason my win-streak is not so big is sometimes caused by the fact that I use a REALLY defensive play-style and sometimes because I use generally bad Pokemon (For example Jumpluff and Shuckle), but I play Pokemon to have fun, so I'm not really bothered by it.

Outside of Pokemon my hobbies include playing video-games from other franchises, watching Let's Plays and creating my own Let's Plays (Although I personally don't think they are very good).

As for who I am in general; I am a shy, people-pleasing pacifist that would rather avoid a conflict than confront it. As I mentioned before I usually go with a defensive play-style and I'm pretty much always the healer in the games I play (and heck, I beat Platinum by only using Status-Moves, that should account for something). And as you might already have concluded for yourself, I have a really big interest in the English language and I love to write it, read it and speak it.

And almost as a final note I guess, I am from Norway, so that is a thing I guess.

...I'm really bad at endings ;___;

Welcome to the forums! I am sure you will enjoy it.

We have a board where you can share your Let's Play videos. We also have a board for Literature, in case you would like to share your English work there. And finally, we have our own Gym League that we are creating right now. If you really like to battle, then check it out and apply for a gym leader position.

Secondly, I do not even have a team, but I know that I can still apply without one (well, without one existing on my physical copy, at least). But most importantly: I work very slowly which means that I probably wouldn't be able to create a team in time for the matches.

Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Even if someone has applied, you can still apply for the same type, but then, the competition has increased for you. You can as well settle with another type. As for your team, the League will not open before November. Isn't that long enough for you?

Oh, goodness, I thought it started almost immediately! Well then, let's look over the rules! (And hopefully apply)

A very jelly welcome to VR, Togelover. I'm also a competitive battler applying to become a gym leader here. As former VR Psychic gym leader, I wish you luck! I have also tried LPing, but I find myself being too shy or not confident enough to narrate through videos. ^_^' I usually just upload a few Wifi battles or remixes for my Youtube channel. If you have any questions about the forum or the general league, feel free to ask me. I also take DS battle challenges, so you can challenge me to a battle whenever, if you want. ^^

Hello! Don't bother trying to pronounce my name, just call me Quad.

I, too, have some LPs on my channel, but I would like to branch out to other various game videos (like reviews and guides). The tip I have for being a better LPer is to just not think and roll with it. It's kind like being in an Improv group except you're playing a video game and the audience won't see your show until later.

By the way, beating Platinum using only status moves is pretty dang impressive. I never thought about doing such a thing. Taunt must've been a killer to you in battles.

Anyway, welcome to VR. Hope to see you make some friends here.

Hi, I am almost sure you were some of the people that joined because of Cat's video. Well I am not going to judge you for being one of them. As long as you stay active, explore a little, and follow rules we will be friends! And Good luck on the Gym League position.

It wasn't that bad actually since most in-game trainers do not have Taunt most of the time, but thanks for the compliment regardless

Guilty as charged, and I do feel like quite the noobie for being one of those people, but as you said I will not just be one of the "5 posts and then leave" members as I'm planning to stick around for as long as possible

Yeah, the people here are really awesome and we have a lot to offer.

If you ever do get bored you could do the following.
Play a forum game.
Play at the Arcade.
Adopt a few pokemon on VRAC.
Join the Spriting School.
PM some people for a convo.
Go to general chat.
Join an RP.
Make an RP.
Make an FF.
Do some "Ask the staff"
Go to peoples Sprite Shoppes.

That is the basic list of things to do! Hope you enjoy your stay and like this place like I do.

I saw your comment on Cat's video. I actually had no idea he put a video up about the VRGL, but that would explain the sudden influx of people flocking in for a position.

Anyways...

As teamplasma said, there is a ton of stuff you can do while waiting for the official list of gym leaders to be announced. I don't really see anything to add to that list that I can see at the moment, but I think you get the point. Either way, welcome to VR! Everyone here just calls me TPM, so don't worry if you were unsure. You could say that my knowledge of Pokémon is pretty wide too, but that's a story for another day

Well, I can't really say anything else to end this other than, welcome to VR, I hope you have a good time here! ^^

Welcome to VR, fellow new member! At least you wrote a better introduction than I did. This place is really awesome, and I hope you enjoy your stay!
